hi all. i am trying to find out why my disco 2 has pumped up the rear, and stayed there....new sensors fitted both side, new pump, went to be callibrated but landrover said it had pressure fault or wiring fault.... i never disconnected battery when i fitted sensors, should i have? i did use jacks just wondering if disconnecting battery would clear any faults when i changed sensors. ace light flashes orange, does the fault lie in the transducer in the ace unit....????????

Just do double check - do you mean ACE or SLS?

SLS is the self levelling suspension, ACE has nothing to do with the rear height stuff, it's the anti-body roll equipment (Active Cornering Enhancement)

You dont HAVE to disconnect the battery when you replace the height sensors, but it is certainly sensible to do so as it tends to drop the car on top of you otherwise!

I suppose yor ORM light is flashing orange(the ACE is not flashing whatsoever)......the prob is with the ORM mode I think......try to take out and disconect the ORM switch then drive untill yu exceed 20mph and see what happens......could be a wiring issue>short circuit on the ORM command or even worst with the extended mode......doesnt look a common failure to me.......U can also jack up the rear while engine running and see it the exhaust valve is working......u should hear a fsssssss.......I'd stick with u on this step by step but Im in a very week/no signal area......I'll do my best

That's one of those peculiar SLS behaviours I was talking about some threads ago..........I'm just wondering about the LR-guys that they didnt sort it out just gave u a guess...........doesnt seem a proffesional approach to me

Good luck

I'd be also inclined to fill in your location field in your user profile - if anyone like myself with a nanocom is nearby they might be able to help a little.

My comments solely refer to the sls system - nothing to do with ACE:

1. You definitely should have disconnected the battery neg lead before starting to remove the old ride height sensors and installing the new ones.

2. You do not need to recalibrate the system after replacing the ride height sensors, so long as you disconnect the car battery neg lead whilst doing the work.

3. If I were you I would be disconnecting the battery neg lead and leaving it for 5- 10 mins then reconnect and see if the system has recognised the new sensors. If it has, your ride height should return to normal. DO NOT PRESS THE OFF-ROAD HEIGHT BUTTON; Just leave the system to settle itself first. If after reconnecting the battery lead and starting the engine (with all doors and bonnet closed) and it doesn't settle to the correct height, then further diagnosis is required, but try the above first.

Good luck
