Disco 4 tailgate open button

Looking for some advice on how to open and get into my disco 4 boot, the button just makes a clicking noise then doesn't open as it normally would. It happened a year ago and i managed to give it a few pushes in and out and it opened and it seemed to work ever since. What's the best way to get into it ? Thanks, mark

Hi mark I’m having the same problem now.it does open sometimes. It got worse when I started doing things like charging my phone in the car. Researching this it seems it’s either the actuator or the battery. The only way I can normally get the tailgate open is right after I’ve just driven her. Changing the actuator with the tailgate closed looks like a head melter. I have mine booked in to get a health check Monday. Best of luck

Hi Steve, thanks for your reply, first I've been on the forum in a few days, I was actually trading the car in on Saturday and was trying to get it working before hand, in the end I didn't. A mechanic told me if you hear the clicking but it's not opening then it tends to be the actuator like you mentioned. Turns out when trading it in they weren't even bothered about it. Best to get it sorted before your Jammed out and have to break in from the inside through the covers. Hope you get yours sorted soon. Cheers.
