Disco 2 water ingress causing issues!!

This is my first post.
We are relatively new Landy owners having purchased our truck last November. It’s a 2000 Disco 2 V8 auto with 57k on it and seems to have had an easy life (it’s a Japanese import). All was going well until the boyfriend tried to open it yesterday am. Key fob will arm and disarm alarm but no central locking response. Upon opening the car (with the key) he found a lot of water inside the plastic surrounding the steering column & in driver footwell (We’ve not had this leak before but it’s been very wet & windy here for the last two days). Both sunroofs have had their seals successfully replaced so suspect the windscreen now...?
Once this water was wiped up he started the car and found that the gear selection was a bit hit & miss. It refused to select reverse at one point which was helpful as it was blocking our other cars in.... Gear stick will move after start up but then gets stuck in neutral.
Also the indicators will work inside the car but no response from the actual lights & no ‘indicator ticking’. The interior door lock switch won’t function either. All fuses checked & found to be ok. The SRS fault light illuminated briefly but has now gone.
Help please?!?
Any suggestions will be greatly received. It’s had a dehumidifier running inside the cabin but sadly no help....

Many places to leak.
I would check the sunroof to make sure the frame has been sealed to the roof properly, the seal isn't leaking and the drip tubes aree not blocked and connected (the connection can crack). Also the screw fittings for the glass.
Top of A pillar on the gutter can leak.
Roof rail where it fixes to the roof.
Windscreen.
Door seals.
I had a leak down the windscreen and it was dripping into the cabin fan and leaking into the passenger footwell.
Aircon drains can block and flood the footwell.

Best try and pin down the exact source and then ask the best way to sort it.

I think I'll have to remove the headlining and do a thorough water ingress check and try to pin down all possible leaks in one go. Great discussions on here I see (& tech sheets from LR).
I suspect the A pillars could be an issue now too. In the mean time I've got to work out how to get the gears selector, indicators and central locking functioning so the car can be moved!

Update. The boyf just tried the Landy. Loads of rain all night but no further ingress and all is working as it should. Weird. Oh the joys of Lany ownership eh?

There is lots of stuff about water ingress, for good reason! You do need to redo the sealant in the gutters and front screen, plus the sunroofs are just a constant battle. Use quality sealant products and if like me you dont care about the sunroofs, seal them with lots of gorilla tape. It does work.

Oh, for sealing the gutters I run some of this along first and then finish off with Sikaflex. The Tolley's is thinner so gets down into hairline cracks before setting.

Thanks for the info guys. I’ve now purchased a top cover & all is dry for now. Once I have time I shall investigate all possible leaks. All seems ok now except radio sometimes won’t switch off & radio steering wheel controls are dead. I can live with that & hope nothing else packs up!!!!

My 2000 V8 had similar radio problems earlier this year. It wouldn't switch off even with the fuse removed and set the alarm off. Fery recommended a new internal fuse box which I bought but before I got round to fitting it everything dried out.
The drivers carpet was alway wet and I found a small hole at a seam in the wheel arch where three panels join.
Now I've always had three of those cheap dehumidifiers you get from pound shops, they've got beads in the top. I've got one in each front door pocket and one in the tail gate pocket, surprising how much water they collect.
That and the air con on keeps it fairly dry....
