Hello All,

I recently fitted a new ABS sensor to the front left side; everything seemed fine and i managed to clear the codes from the dash. However i went for a test drive and as soon as i hit 2nd gear the traction control light was coming on and i could feel the brakes being locked onto that wheel only and it is simply undrivable. Took me a while to realise it was the new sensor giving these issues but as soon as i unplugged it, it was working fine again (just the 3 amigo lights came back on)

Obviosuly really frustrating, if anyone has any ideas please let me know!

Thank you

Did you change the sensor or change the hub?

The sensors, while.they can be changed are very difficult to selt up with the correct airgap. Which is why the majority choose to fit new hubs

just the sensor, that could be the issue then as the one i changed before was the hub as well.
You may not want to do this, and I wouldn't blame you but you could swop the two sensors over at the front and see if the fault moves with the sensor. If not, it's the hub.

I didn't think the sensor was capable of applying a brake, only to detect a locked wheel so the 'system' could release pressure to unlock it & the idea of the ABS light illuminating was to tell you you now have NO ABS just a normal braking system. Is there any play in the hub/bearing ? That would cause the caliper to bind as the disc wouldn't be running true.
