My Bus Had Not Moved For A Few Days Got In It Yesterday And The Steering Felt Stiff And Jerky, So Today I Greased The Steering Box Lubricated Ball Joints Etc Went To The Tip In It And It Got Even Stiffer And Jerkier. So I Am Now Sat Here With Black Hands Having Just Disconected The Drop Arm From The Wheels And Still Have The Same Problem Without Moving The Wheels. What Could It Be Steering Box Or Power Steering Pump Any Help Or Advice Would Be Greatly Aprreciated Thanks Shaun

GREASED THE STEERIN' BOX!!!!! how did ye do that then??? When ye say drop arm from the wheels, do ye mean from the bottom of steerin' box?
Did ye check yer belt first? Chances are it 'MIGHT' be a fooked steerin' box.

BTW, Wot's With All The Capitals? :D

Thier Is A Grease Nipple On Top Of The Steering Box Greased That And Disconected The Steering Rod From The Drop Arm Still Same Prob But Not As Heavy A Feel To It

Ah think ye'll find that the 'grease nipple' will actually be a bleed nipple on top of the box!
Dunno what damage ye've dun by pumpin' grease in there, but ah'm sure some one else will come along and tell you.

If ye reconnect the steerin' rod/ damper and jack up the front of the bus, how does it feel with the wheels off the ground?

Yes Just Opened The Bleed Nipple To No Grease Got Through And Its Full Of Fluid So Is The Res. And The Belt Is Tight
When ye say it's full of fluid, do yo mean 'to the neck' or up to the mark on the 'dip stick' on the cap (if it's the same as one of mine)?
The belt shouldn't be too tight, about a 1/4 turn play in it.

Have ye checked yer steerin' u.j's and the condition of the rubber bit in the collapsible steerin' shaft?
Have a look at this to see what ah'm on about...

Might be worth just whippin' it off to see, and if it is the shaft then it's cheeper than a box;) :D

Fluid Is Up To The Mark On The Stick And The Belt May Be A Little To Tight But Not Much. The Collapsable Steering Shaft And Joints Are Fine. Looks Like The Box Is Fooked

If it's a new steerin' box, then ye might be lookin' for part # NTC1582 or NTC1582E accordin' to the parts catalogue. Ah'm pretty sure it's bin superceded but ah can't find my reciept!!
