Different Latches?

I currently have these doors on me Defender (see attached pics)

Iv just bought the series type doors (After some decent advice and opinions off you dudes! Cheers)

Iv gone for the Anti-burst type latches and just wondered if my slam plates will be the same for both types of latch or will i have to get the matching slam plates for the new locks?

Appologise for ****e pics, had to take the with me torch as its dark now ;)

They drop a hook that stops you lifting the handle on the outside..have you got the split glass sliding windows? If so you'll need the little twist and press metal knob that stops you just sliding the window open from the outside too..

Yeah its the split glass type, they look ace i cant wait to get em on and have some doors that work for a change! I got the window locker mate i odered it wi the doors.

I cant seem to work out where the hook shaped bit on the barrel would go on the latch i have (See pic) Just me being daft again lol! :(

Oh right, you've got the later, more expensive type...your existing door striker plate will fit them fine. Make sure you order the right locks and barrels though...

Ah phew lol! Thats even better then mate! Less messing then if its the same striker plates ha!

Just had a look on me back door and it has the same as you mentioned (With the hook thing) i see how they work now cheers! Its hard to get ya head round somet isnt it sometimes when theres nothing to compare them too.....

just a quick one, with that rear door latch you've got, any ideas on changing the locking bolt? Ive changed the latch on the rear door but still had no luck with the lock barrel. It was suggested that there should be a small hole on the side of the barrel tube but there doesnt appear to be one, any ideas on how i could be able to get the lock out to put it in the new one.
