Hi everyone wonder if anyone could help, got a discovery 2 ,which I think the diff is locked in,it's not a manual diff it's the electrical type, any suggestions how I can unfree it?thank uou
Hi thanks for reply,I did some research too and some came with lever, then landrover introduced the traction control ,its started to turn like a plane, and when you watch it on gravel you can visually see that it's fighting itself?i could may well
Be wrong ,on tight lock sometimes it bangs,?cheers
I have all three lights on,tc,abs, hill decent, which I thought could be part of the problem?ive had it about 18 months? Not exactly right , D2 had TC, some had combined TC and diff lock. But this is a center diff lock, if the diff is not working on one axle then I suspect your diff in the axle is fubarred.
Does the TC light come on on the dash when this is happening?
Unless someone has retrofitted a lockable diff to the axle? Is there a switch in the cabin for a lockable diff?
How long have you had this vehicle?
Cheers
Yes,and srs,it's only my farm vehicle but i don't want it knackering up?well I thought/read that if there is no manual lever then it's a electric diff ?i don't understand how an electricRight , so you have the 3 amigos......
You need to get it on diagnostics, find someone locally who has a nanocom / hawkeye / lynx.
Then fix whatever is causing the 3 amigos.
So, why do you think you have an electronic diff lock?
Cheers
I get so confused,so what would you say this is?is it knackered?if I have no manual lever with diff then I'm confused?Sorry but diffs and stuff completely throws me ,why would this bang on tight turning?Okey dokey,
The diff lock if fitted is only for the ctr diff, NOT the axle diffs. It is actuated by the lever in front of the gearstick
The TC if is is working will make a loud noise ( like a grinding or the ABS cutting in )
D2's do not come with an electronic diff as std or an option.
D2's do not come with an axle diff lock , unless it has been fitted by a third party afterwards.
Cheers
Yes all looks ok?Have you tried jacking it up and seeing if anything is broken?
Cheers
