Have taken out all the rivets and screws to sort out the lock.....How do you get the plastic trim past the handbrake and the autobox selector?

To get the plastic trim off you'll need to remove the clip and pin from the handbrake cable. This will allow the handbrake to move into a vertical position so the trim can be removed.

I sorted my diff lock last week, I had to remove the selector completely and it took me around an hour with it in a vice before it was free. I make a point of selecting diff lock and low range at lest once a week so it doesn't stick again.

If your's is an autobox model, before you can shift the hi-lo lever, you need to be in neutral (N) in the main gearbox.

The procedure is, engine running, foot on brake and select N on main box, then ease the hi-lo lever forwards. This may take a little bit of jiggling to move.

Sometimes you need to select D for a second move the car 1 foot forward, then back into N and at the same time move the hi-lo lever forwards.
