Hawkeye covers them all, nanocom EVO afaik will do D2, Defender and P38 only... for suppliers use google cos i wo'nt make advertising here;)

I had a look on Brookwells web site and they sell something called a Lynx anyone ever used one of those?
The diagnostic tool not the armpit spray

Thanks they all seem to be about that money, I chose the Hawkeye in the end, Gonna get stuck in with it tomorrow and see if I can fix some Amigos. If I can get one at the right money I might get a Snap On Solus Pro too, I think thats ok for D1's
Thanks for all your help and advice

why would you buy other tool for D1, it's enough to buy much cheaper an additional unlock code for your Hawkeye and it will cover the D1's too up to theyrs brains(as much as they have:D)...for each additional unlock code you can add a new LR modell to the hawkeye

Yes I know, I also thought about buying the pro version but I do work on other makes as well and the Solus is a pretty good all rounder.

as "all rounder" this one is brilliant AUTOCOM CDP Plus for Cars, autocom cdp pro, Autocom CDP Cables - GBP£54.99 , it's multivehicle tool not only OBDii, i had one and works even on D2 quite well and on other L.R's(except D1)...check it's coverage list and you'll be amazed...it's the most comprehensive cheap tool i've ever seen, i gave it to my son and law who runs a garage and he uses it day by day in all kind of cars/trucks

I would bet it does not work on a P38 and as it talks about crack files I suspect it's a Chinese clone of someone else's product.

Recently saw Land Rover iCarsoft i930 Multi System Diagnostic Tool - SRS, ABS, Engine etc... the device. If someone enjoyed, it is interesting to know the opinion, especially Td5.
Not convinced they know what they are talking about:-

The Land Rover iCarsoft i930 is a multi system diagnostic tools which has been designed to communicate with the main systems within your Mercedes such as SRS airbags, ABS Antilock Brakes, engine & tranmission modules.

Quote from the ad:confused:

it does less than the £60 autocom CDP + and it's only OBDII/EOBD compliant which means no coverage for Td5 engine... i'm not advertising nothing re-read my first post:

yes it's chinese but why would that be a problem these days as the Testbook T4 main dealer LR tool is made by Omitec which's main manufacturing base is in Shanghai

i have owned many kind of diagnostic machines in my life and i can tell from experience that a chinese "clone" is more reliable any time than a italian clone(as nanocom started;))

The problem with chinese clones is not the quality, but the fact they are ripping off the intellectual property rights of a company/person that will have spent a considerable sum on design and development. If it continues, it will become uneconomic to spend cash on development.

afaik it's not even a "clone" as it's entirely chinese stuff...and the multi-vehicle diagnostic protocols are cheap and available for any manufacturing company, it's subject of trade mark regulations which is the job of authorities, as long as it's available in an english(or other european) official store i have no remorse....but we are way off topic IMO
