James, how big a piece do you actually need? I've got several strips of various lengths but only about 300mm wide. If that's wide enough then call here before the Yonderman on Saturday and pick a bit to suit. Got some ally plate that's wider if 300mm not enough.
None of these aerial mount problems for me, my CB is a handheld job like a big walky talky. Only problem is, the range is measured in feet rather than miles
Thanks Ian, I may take you up on that, 30mm would be plenty I think, it needs to be about 250mm in length and 30mm wide, just long enough to span 2 roof rack rails and to mount an aerial on.
My temp solution is with limited success, all I can hear is static!
