Hi all,

It's been ages since I've last posted here, due to concentrating on lots of other things. However, my MOT time is nearing, which always means lots of work.

The most important thing I'm trying to deal with is the steel frame around the bottom of the rear passenger doors on my 1995 Defender 110 CSW. It's as rotten as a pear, and there are holes right through into the passenger compartment. It's now got close enough to the seat belt mounts to be an MOT failure (was a warning last year) and I need to sort it it. I'm not frightened of grinding and welding, but it looks like a pig of a job.

Has anyone here repaired station wagon body frame rust? Are repair sections available? That would make things a whole lot easier...

Cheers
Chris

Ooh, those look nice. Thanks for the link. The frame certainly isn't going to be removed from the vehicle, I'm afraid, but maybe I can find a way to do it. Unfortunately all mechanical work is done on the side of the road outside my house (within reach of the garage, though), so major rebuilding is tricky!
