So....
A landy-orientated garage has opened near me, and informed me that my straight through exhaust system will knacker my turbo due to lack of back pressure.
Whilst it has been an intention of mine to fit a silencer (yes, the exhaust sounds cool as anything, but the sheer volume of it is somewhat tiring after a while) to the side exit system, if this is true, is it too late? Has anyone else had experience of this?
So, after having a new high pressure power steering hose fitted (old one was corroded and spraying everywhere) all was pretty swell.
Unfortunately the timing belt snapped on saturday while on the dual carriageway. Luckily I managed to roll up to my house, where it still is while I wait for parts. Have ordered a timing belt kit and a few other odds and ends (pushrods etc) as would rather be able to reassemble it on the day.
Timing belt kit (dayco) turned up, and all the bearings etc are bloody britpart! That's being sent straight back, and a bearmach one ordered.
Ugh....
Is that a spring loaded plunger with a seal at one end? Whatever it is it shouldn't be there!
I likes yer side lockers, who make those?
heres mine
Pulled the rocker cover off, took rocker shaft out, and this thing was sitting under it, just loose.
Any ideas what it is?
Pushrods all look straight. Rockers all intact.
Makes me wonder about the diagnosis. Hmmm.
