Ohhhhh…. lots of questions! :)

X-Eng pedal lock didn't need modifying at all, I fitted it when the R380 was in place and it works fine with the auto & console.

The access panel was indeed to make it easier to get to the battery.
When I first rebuilt the vehicle I fitted Recaro seats, very comfortable (600+miles in a single day with no discomfort) but the base wasn't removable so as well as the FIA isolator (always fit one of those) I made up the panel using captive nuts so if needs be I could get to the battery terminals in just a couple of minutes. As I am now back to standard LR seats the panel is no-longer required and I haven't opened it in several years. The Recaro's went for two reasons:- Firstly I wanted to put the vehicle back to original (well, a different sort of original) and secondly my wife (who is shorter in the leg than me) could not depress the clutch fully (this was pre auto) and so it meant she was unable to drive the vehicle.

Larger pedal was purely because it was in the kit and it was an easy fit, I don't think it makes the slightest difference but it looks the part and does not get in the way.
The foot-rest (dummy pedal if you like) was also included in the kit but I decided not to fit that as I felt I didn't need it and without I have more room to move my left foot.

Cheers @Litch
Good news re pedal lock, the auto is under a slightly modified LT77 tunnel so should be ok.
Pedal....form over function? Does look better.. I didn't bother with the foot rest either, like to stretch my leg!
Very nice looking motor too (yours that is!)

Is is possible to perform a home conversion from manual to automatic on a Defender 90?

I'm seeing prices from £3000 upwards from companies.

I'm just wondering if the parts needed (apart from auto centre console) are able to be swapped straight from an auto Disco or similar.

Any advice would be greatly received and appreciated.

Thank you.
Buy an old scrapper auto Disco for £600 and that's you pretty much got all the bits.

That is my plan for when I finally get round to that project.
