I went out to my '06 dfender this morning and pushed the button on the key fob as usual to open the door, nothing happened.
It did not give any trouble up till today, I replaced the battery and still nothing !
I opened the door with the key, needless to say I woke up the neighbours with the horn sounding.
Any suggestions ?
Car less at the moment, had to walk to work !

After changing the fob battery you need to press the LOCK button a few times to sync it. Once your lights flash then unlock in the normal way. It can take a dozen or so presses as the fob uses a rolling code.

Just tried this now, pushed it about 30 times but still nothing.

Just another thing struck me, the starter has been a bit lazy on start the last 2/3 days, could this be related ? Weak battery ?

Try taking the battery out again, and with the battery out hold down both the buttons for a bout 30 seconds.
Then put the battery back in.

If it doesn't work then.

Hold the key fob close to the car and press lock repeatedly difficult to say how many times some say 3, some 5 etc

Bang on, 100%, yer a genius, works perfect now.
