My 1994 Defender is in the middle of being put back together.

Unfortunately the guy I brought it from took the engine out to replace the clutch and never put it back, the interior was partially stripped too.

The welding is now finished, and we are starting to put it back together, but finding silly little parts missing. I have nagged the old owner but he is pretty sure there is nothing left at his house.

Its all silly stuff, like copper washers off the fuel pipes, nuts and bolts, the clutch slave cylinder pushrod, the strengthening rods from the front panel, two of the exhaust studs.

It is taking me as long to trawl the net and try to find them, as it is to fit them. Any tips on somewhere to find part numbers, or do I take up camp at the dealers with a big list.

Also I am after a front A bar suitable to work with a standard style winch bumper, to take my big Hella spot lamps, any recommendations?

Not being lazy but suffering from Google Blindness

Cheers

The main stealers will cost you a fair wack. Have you tried a breakers yard?

eBay is your best bet for the silly little things.

Good luck. :D

Download and install Microcat to get part numbers then search for the numbers on paddocks or lrseries or any of the other suppliers like that :)

Yes, apologies for that, I did forget to check that the rotten cardboard box that was stashed in the back of it, contained the requesite number of copper washers and exhaust studs, when I dragged it home on the car trailer.;).

Thanks for the help, I found a copy of microcat, and then found it had a dodgy crack file which needed me to change my PC date and time to 2006 or something, so I chickened out.

Good job I am better at welding than computers.

Spotted the sticky now too, oops

Cheers
