had the death wobble for a few months where around 25mph I thought it would shake itself to bits........ I read the forums, did investigations on causes and fixes. Thought some were way out of my experience, luckily a change of the pan hard bushes resolved it, others must have been really shot as you could grab the pan hard bar and shake it about 1mm.

Thanks to all who openly discussed this issue over the past few years on these forums that made searching and finding what the cause could be so much easier :)
and of course big thanks to Neil the local discovery guru for lending me use of his workshop, expertise and hydraulic press

Now i need to stop the steering box leaking.......anyone changed the output shaft seals on a box from a RRC ('85) ? i hear getting the drop arm of is a bit of a sod......

Loosen and back off the drop arm nut, then use a 2 legged hydraulic puller to apply the pulling force and then shock the drop arm by the taper with a hammer.

It should just pop off the taper spline.

All steering drop arms are the same no matter what vehicle or model, either they fall off easily or are complete bast**d's.

I know, removed many myself, series and 90/110 and Defender.

Good puller, and tickle it with a hammer and drift a bit first, usually come off. :)

It is a quietish area of the forum, not as many series about as there used be!:(
