Indeed. Try again tomorrowAM but the gods are not smiling on us.
Oh well, that loss is my gain.
I want to get my tailgate handle sorted but I still have the issue that I don't have a lock barrel that matches the key. I might just stuff it and decide not to use the lock in the tailgate rather than delay proceedings.

Beware of Halfrauds Bed Liner spray. Looks nice but after 1 minute of spraying it clogged beyond recovery. Useless.
U-Pol it is.

Hope to get the spare wheel bracket back on tomorrow.
Does anyone have the part number pf the cable ties that hold the high-light cable? Mine dismantled themselves....
May get the handle back on, new plastic lining and door reassembled tomorrow.
Just leaves the timing belt to do before MOT :D:eek::D:eek::cool:

Looks nice

I'm sensing some smugness in your post. :p

Quiet right too. It looks very good. ;)
Hardly....
It's far from perfect but, also, far from the crock of sh1t3 that it was.
Just realised that I don't have the nuts to hold the handle on. (Cue nut jokes...).
When the car arrived the handle was held on with tape.

I had to replace both nuts and bolts on all the handles I repaired. Have you repaired the rusty holes in the door yet.

See how I resisted the temptation there. :p

Two holes were fine. One was, errr, gaping.
Quicksteel. Took 10 minutes and it can be drilled.
Bit longer to cut out the guff first then paint with Buzzweld RCP.

Trying a bit of linseed oil on a very tired, maybe dead, spare wheel cover. Spot the bit I haven't done.

I may, however, have only made an oily mess.

Following the relative success of the spare wheel bracket, what do we think to U-Pol painted roof bars?
I'm a bit of a fan of the 3-door bars and is I can get a set that need some TLC for a reasonable price then it might look nice to have them match the wheel bracket.
Mustn't get too distracted though!

I can't think of anything more miserable than the breakers in the ****ing rain on the leading edge of Storm Doris.
Especially when the roof bars won't go in the Volvo and you only have allen keys (bars are Torx). Had to borrow a knackered Torx set from aPolish lad at the yard.
Great price though, and nice to know there is a dedicated 4x4 yard with 100k+ parts 15 minutes from home.

She'll be ready for the sunshine I hope..
Going to get a 2nd hand key/lock set which has the petrol filler and tailgate locks. I don't care if they are different to doors/ignition. Then I can get tailgate finished.
Just leaves timing belt and a general service before MOT.
Then the minor issues relating to 4WD
