Thanks TC and everyone
I’ll get them to check earths at the same time.
U.K. Alex

hiya

as you’ve been so appreciative of the help I thought I would also do this for u

By spending some time going through all my photos and links, finding the key earth points and connectors for u, alas some easy to see , others can be hard to find or hidden

the connectors I’ve circled plse get them to undo and clean with contact spray , that large white connector is undone by pulling a slider on one end

on the passenger side , near ur headlight there will be 3 x connectors , really need them coming apart, cleaning , those connectors also go onto ur suspensions compressor

I went through many electrical diagrams, it looks like ur water level sensor and oil sensor also pick up some earths that are hidden under the passenger side wheel arch liner, they are also used for earths used by the ECM

the other earth is behind the fuse box, that can come loose, however that would effect everything,, however there are some earths in front of the fuse box by the wing

there’s other earths, drivers side behind the inner wheel arch liner and another 3 x behind the front drivers side head light , alas don’t think these would be a problem as they pick up lighting and alternator , starter etc

there’s also an earth between ur gearbox and chassis

also included a chart showing where every single earth is located , just remember it’s showing a LHD vehicle so plse just think of them on the opposite side

hope that also helps a little

Wow thanks for all your work gstuart it’s much appreciated together with everyone else’s.
I’m new to the forum, as any other problems I’ve had have been an obvious fix, but will look here regularly from now on.

Your comment on the washer bottle earth seems like you might be on the right path As the 3 warning lights come on and off at the same random time. Will look at this first.
Once again thanks for all your info oh and I’m a grandad too great isn’t it

So had scan done.
Code B1A80 came up with some others Cleared memory
Tech said if happens again bring it back and leave running for retest.
Took it back after a five mile run and the B1A80 engine oil pressure, signal plausiblity not ok. This was only code after reset. Going to try new oil pressure switch next week as a first move

Better to connect a real oil pressure gauge and check the actual pressure first. Otherwise if the oil pressure is actually low & not a sensor fault, then bigger issues are on the horizon.

Sorry for the delay in replying, been busy.
So, took it back to original tech who checked and sorted earth stuff out Also said battery efficiency was down on test and his machine recommended changing.
Had new battery, still lights coming on but much quicker than before haha.
Suggest I go to a small LR business close by.
So took it to Town and Country in Leamington Spa, plugged in diagnostics and told me gauge cluster looked like the problem, but they’ll take in to give a quick look over.
Found a small problem with some brake light cabling and switch and repaired these and told me to try it.
Problem came back again after about 20 miles.
So new cluster fitted and voila 400 miles later no problem.
Can’t recommend these guys enough, good service, good prices and knowledgable people.
So many thanks to Greg and others.
Just a real good small business that’s not a registered dealer, check them out guys they’re worth it
