I'd recommend the Raptor unit, have one fitted to mine, its solid, with loads of room for bits. Like you a narrowed mine down to Mud and Raptor, I like the almost OEM look of the Mud one, but in the end went with the Raptor as I though the mud version didn't look as solid.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to see a mud version in person to check, maybe someone on here can say otherwise. Another useful feature of the Raptor one is that if you change your mind about what you want in it you can order replacement facia's

I like the look of that. The Mud one looks as if it might be a bit Plasticky.
PS...Have you just driven through a bale of hay in that photo ???

There is no comparison. The MUD one is a simple plastic ‘moulding’, by that I don’t know if it’s even injection moulded. I imagine it will be flimsy and look cheap.
The Raptor console however is a solid, well engineered and well made piece of kit, made in England with fantastic customer support to boot, comes with full fitting instructions and is a class upgrade to the interior. I’m an Engineer and I do like quality kit. That’s why the interior of my LR is a bit of a Raptor fest.

Another vote here for the raptor one. Another advantage is you can buy differant face plates for it including blanks you can drill yourself, so as your needs develope and change it is easy to modify and still have a quality finish item I have changed mine once already as the configuration evolved.

Are the mountain goat consoles still available or not? They were like an upmarket version on the mudstuff one. I have one in each of my 90's and have found then very good and sturdy.
Do you mean Irongoat?? I just missed one near me on Gumtree. It was selling at £60. They are £250 New

Could have been iron goat. I bought my two for £99 then bought the carling switches for it.

MUD console is indeed plastic and injection moulded but it does the job pretty well and is easy to fit. Solid enough and has survived a fair amount of vibration etc offroad. I'd prefer a better engineered product with the advantages mentioned above, but for the money the MUD is OK.

I prefer the look of the Mud console as it seems to just fit better with the rest of the dash. The Raptor one is fine if you want load of extra stuff or on a challenge truck, but for a "car" something more OEM looks better and the Mud console is a better size. There is some cutting involved of the standard lower dash where the oval insert is. Their stuff is usually pretty good and well thought-out. Looking at one for the series 3

The raptor looks far more "industrial tool"
I would imagine the mud to suit a shiny Csw with expensive leather seats much better than the raptor.
On the other side I would think that the raptor would match an off-road vehicle way better than the mud.
Just depends what you want, I guess.

I went mudstuff because it just looked a bit more OEM, with Carling switches

That looks superb! I am leaning towards the Raptor but that's because my Landy is a work horse
And what’s your opinion on it?? It looks great. Does it feel flimsy or as if it would break easily?

It's a tough non brittle plastic, a few mm thick, as long as the metal support brackets all line up nicely and you take your time fitting then it should last ok.
I had to realign my brackets a few mm to eliminate any movement and got plugs for the backs of all switches so I can take the whole unit out if needed
I really like the Raptor stuff though and would have gone that way if I didn't have a CSW with the leather and all that
The raptor one definitely gives a more industrial look especially if it is then filled with metal toggle switches rather than plastic carling ones. It was the metal construction that made the decision for me, although I got the anodised black one as felt the silver was a little too garish.
No matter how tough the plastics are, in my land rover at least, they are never a match for the same item made from metal.
