Hi Guys, am pulling my hair out (what’s left of it!) and was wondering if anyone had a solution!

My rear windscreen wiper motor is working but the nut needs tightening (via removing the wiper arm cover), as the arm is not moving....

HOWEVER, I cannot get to the wiper arm nut cover to remove it as the metal roof overhang at the back is in the way and cannot see any way of disconnecting it - it looks riveted on???

Any ideas will be eternally grateful!

this is the best ah can come up with so far, hope it helps:D

REAR WIPER ARM
Service repair no - 84.35.01 - Wiper Arm
Service repair no - 84.35.02 - Wiper Blade
Remove
1. Remove wiper arm nut cover. Remove nut.
2. Remove wiper arm from motor spindle.
Refit
4. Fit wiper blade to arm.
5. Position arm to motor spindle. Secure with nut.
Tighten to 17 Nm (12 lbf.ft)
6. Fit nut cover.

Thanks for the info Busterbus! Unfortuantely, I agree with both the post and RR manual - however its the step before:

1. "Remove wiper arm nut cover. Remove nut."

I am stuck with - as I cannot get the the wiper arm nut cover due to the coving!

Thanks anyway.

My cover fell off when I washed the car too hard. I just threw it in the boot and have never even looked at fixing it back on. So just wash your car.

Ha Ha Ha - will take your advice! Was there any connection points you noticed on the coving when it was washed off?

Cheers,

Looks like it's a 'snap-on' fit, lever it off it will probably be brittle with age and break but shouldn't cost much to replace if you feel the need
