Hi all got a d2 td5 with low power At low revs
New fuel pump
Egr removed
New maf
New fpr
New injector arenas
Cleaned map
Had remap and work great for long time
wast gate free
Converted to springs
Now am lost spent lots of £ now and am runing out
I have hawk eye if u need any more info or readings am not sure how it all works with this tool
Also got front asb sensor falt but don't thing this will make. Diff
So any one now the answer or how I mite fix this
Hope some one can help thinking of killing my self
 
I was wondering if it could be:

1. turbo related? All these people are selling silicone turbo hose kits, but I am unsure of the effects of a collapsed/split turbo hose?
2. Have you changed the air filter recently, could that help?

I guess either of these would upset the MAF, and cause issues...but I would expect hawkeye to pick that up?

I did have a problem a few years back where my TD5 was sluggish. When the car was in the Indie for a service, he changed the turbo pipes, and the car was better for a while...?

Are you getting any error messages from the hawk?

Had one in the other day and it was throttle harness.

I'd suggest look at your errors first.
 
no not getting any errors from the hawkeye at all its say there no faults at all i do have the wast gate modulater bypassed cos when its inline psi goes up but like it stick at about 0.75 bar then goes on to 1.3 bar so i took it out of line
the electric plug is still on it do you think this is whats up ?

and it as had new air filter and silicone turbo hose kit
 
Look at your AAP and IAP info. If your AAP do not read correctly the ambient pressure, it lacks power on the lower range of rpm.

i'm having similar problems but noticed my sensor in the airbox is missing and getting ambient air pressure fault .did you get yours sorted out .
 
hi rabg no not yet still the same am going to try injector seals at the weekend
there the last thing to do on fuel side for me apart from pips

i blanked the egr and fitted sensor its made a big difference but still have a slight flat spot before turbo kicks in but far nicer to drive now and less changing gears also pulls away better from standstill were as before you had no power on take off and just had to wait for it to build up to turbo ,i think its possibly kicking out to much power when turbo comes in as it just takes off and if you keep it up the revs through the gears its rapid for a 4x4 pulls all the way up to 100mph then after that runs out of oomph a bit. overtaking if effortless at 60 drop to 4th and go .by the way guys tested on private land .
 
I have a TD5 130 (2005) has 163k on the clock. Had problems with eng pwr loss and rough running. Removed fuel tank, cleaned tank, fuel pump was clogged with rubbish. Removed all fuel lines blew clean with compressed air. New fuel filter, inline filter removed, washed in petrol and blew clean with compressed air. Temporary change in idle but after ten min of idle back to rough running and no power when driving vehicle.
Could it be the injectors need recalibration? Any suggestions?
I live in Malawi Africa, so the workshops cannot be trusted as parts disappear.
I drained the fuel and filtered three times with fine brass filter.

The first thing that I'd be checking for is oil in the injector loom. Pull the red plug off the ecu and see if it's showing signs of oil contamination.
 
Sometime back I had found the engine would not start or even the eng light and glow plug light would fail to illuminate. I read about this issue and proceeded to do what you now suggested. Yes, the red wire loom was filled with oil. I used beaker cleaner, sprayed clean, let dry, and vehicle started. Other times, on the road the eng would cut out cold, would have to remove the red loom plug spray, clean and restart. This has went on for several months. I also was told to check the wire plug at front of eng right under rocker cover as the oil leak was coming from there. Is it possible that the fuel regulator at rear of engine has been clogged with dirt. Another question, the injectors, can they be recalibrated at a normal machine shop, or do they need a special machine?
I will again try cleaning the red loom and come back to you.

Replace the injector loom ASAP > www.discovery2.co.uk / Workshop /Injector Harness cos that is causing the trouble( http://www.web-rover.co.uk/nav.php?p=td5kb/oilharness ) ...then u'll get rid of the oil too... u dont need any injector "recalibration"... anyway u can't access discovery management systems with generic testers... it must be special LR dedicated tool. To make sure oil never reach the ECU again u can cut the 5 yellow wire and do that(ignore the extra wires on the picture, they are from a tuningbox) >

I did check, and yes I did find oil in the red male plug( wire loom) I did clean with break cleaner as others also have said and done. This is a band-aid on a sore. A lot of mechanics are like doctors, "here try this pill, if no change come back and we will try something else'!! With all that I have now read on other folks threads and speaking with LR UK it seems most folks still do not have a clue. There are several who all have the same issue as I do, yes the TD5 runs great when it runs, but so does a VW Beetle!
I have checked every possible connection from fuel pump to fuel pressure regulator at eng. Seems to me that with the HP feed
( fuel line) straight to the regulator that not only is this a very poor design by LR and dangerous to the fuel injectors.
