D2 Fob, Receiver BCU problems.

Hi everyone! Thanks in advance!
I have a problem with my fob not working on my discovery 2, it has always worked perfectly until recently. I ordered another fob thinking it was that. I programmed this in with Hawkeye but it still doesn’t work. I have fitted a new Rf Receiver but that hasn’t made any difference either.
It started working for a while the other day, so something is dodgey. I plugged Hawkeye in when it was working and it recognised my fob. The next day it wasn’t working again and hawkeye said fob needs programming (it wasn’t recognised).
I don’t think this is a fob program, because neither of them work. It’s not the receiver either... i have looked at the wiring around the BCU and its not damp ir corroded, all looks good down there. Does anyone have any advice where I can go next?
I’m thinking it could be somewhere between the receiver and the BCU... a connection or similar.

I can’t find RF test on Hawkeye unfortunately. Does anyone know what I can look at next? Are there any connections in the head lining above the passenger A or B post? I don’t have sunroofs but do have water ingress above the front windscreen all along.

You can check at C0102/0484 cos these connectors used to have corrosion due to water ingress, pins 3 - 12 are between the BCU and receiver(double check the wire colours cos i've seen cases when the wires were in other pins but the colours are definitely purple/grey(PS) and black/brown(BN)

Thanks again for your help!! The latest is..... I've tested The wires, I’m getting 12v to the receiver from the BCU... tested at this connector. When i test the black brown wire that returns from the receiver I am also getting 12v, when I activate the fob my tester flashes (I’m not sure what this means, this is where my expertise ends I’m afraid). But the point is that the fob is activating the receiver and sending a signal to the BcU... this is also the case at the connector on the BCu itself..... my question is... should the black brown wire from the receiver be constantly 12v? And secondly.... what the hell can I check next?

ps. I don’t seem to have any other electrical problems whatsoever... and the bcu and connectors are all dry as a bone thankfully.

Next move would be to try to synk te fob maybe the programming was lost but you can't do that with hawkeye unless you have the original bar code... or is the red led on the dash reacting to the fob when you lock/unock ? if yes the priblem is not with the RF side but with the central locking system

I’ve got a new fob which i can code with hawkeye.... I’ve tried this again but it doesn’t work. I have been locking the car as little as possible, then using the EKA code to get back in.... but tonight I’ve locked it with the key and unlocked normally with the key and that has de activated the immobiliser.... i tried this a few times and it worked every time, unlocking and locking just with the key, and starting the engine. The FOBS ARE ACTIVATING THE DASH LED!! locking the doors with the key activates the immobiliser and the LED flashes, until now the key would open the doors but the alarm would go off.... but tonight the key on its own is activating and de activating the immobiliser but unlocking the door. It must be a central locking issue?? Any ideas on what i can do with this? thanks very much again

If you can remobilise it once as to comunicate with hawkeye go into programming and set the alarm disarm to "always with key" and passive immobiliser disabled... or you can set the alarm to ''not fitted'' then you can do what you want without immobilising it again...as long as the fault is so intermitteent it's very hard to diagnose it, the BCU can be at fault as well as long as you are 100% sure that the receiver is OK

Ahh, thanks a lot, I didn’t realise you could change the alarm settings etc, that’s great. I could still do with an alarm system on it, just incase its broken into with expensive tools in the back etc. But I’m not bothered about having an immobiliser on it.
