D2 ECU swap

looking into changing my pre 02 ECU for a post 02 one so I can flash maps onto it etc. Is it just a case of unplug, put new ECU in and plug into nanocom to code keys & injectors?

I can find a lot of people swapping out a bad ECU for a similar age one, but nothing about swapping the early model for the later one

You dont have to code keys in the engine ECU, you have to make it learn the immobiliser security code then set the throttle to 2 track, save injector codes then remap it with a Eu2 fuel map if you want to keep the engine on the safe side

Want to keep engine safe ish, wouldn't mind a stage 1 though :3

You can put any stage in it as long as it's dedicated for Eu2(10P) but the NNN ECU will be loaded most probably with an Eu3(15P) fuel map and that's not healthy for the 10P engine

Many thanks. Hopefully I will get my head around it in a few days. It's far too early to be looking at ECU numbers and understanding different files
