Umm, I would expect that the fuel light would illuminate when the tank level drops to 9 litres… just like my D1 does and which gives me at least 30 miles to go and find petrol, waiting for the light is something I do most times.
So, if the D2 tank is similar… then adding the extra 5 litres to the tank extinguished the light there must at least 4 litres in the tank therefore the engine should run.
As for why diesel’s don’t start
As it says in the thing about how to purge the fuel system, if you weren't out of fuel to begin with then what you have done could have flooded it, making the whole situation worse.
So it that black box with the ACE system that's under the passenger seat under neath? Also with the tank being empty would that throw up ABS, hill decent and TC light up on the dash?Unit on passenger side is the ACE system. Secondary aspect of the tank is for ACE Fluid.

No not long at all. The cap is still on. How do you know if it's been disabled?I take it you haven't had the Disco for very long? If the ACE reservoir is empty and the cap was missing I would suspect that ACE has been disabled. Someone that knows ACE will no doubt be along shortly - mine was disabled and is now gone totally.
The 3 amigos can have a number of possible reasons.
