Has anyone fitted Cooper STT Pro tyres to their Defender? Can I have opinions before I take the plunge? I like the look of them and was thinking of going for a set rather than BFG MT as everyone else seems to be fitting.

my mate has them on a swb Pajero. Great tyres, I asked him to get me some (he owns a tyre garage) but he advised me on to either bfg mid or at due to the coopers being very soft.

In the end I've tried gt radial adventuro mt. Happy with them so far

I ran 285/75/16's on a 90 for a couple of years, wish I still had them - pretty quiet on road with good wet manners, plus handled plenty of mud plugging without too much fuss. I liked them, would buy again - tread wear was 4mm for 8k miles.

Never had BFG M/Ts so can't compare

Slomofo those are the old STT, the STT Pro have only been out in the last 12 months or so, I have fitted the Pro's to my 90 and have to say they are very quiet on road, wet road grip is good and they seem very good in mud.

I heard that the wear rate of the new BFG MT is nothing close to what it used to be in the past. I think they're softer nowadays to improve road manners. I'm still torn in two. I can't make up my mind. Price difference is minimal. I just thought I'd try the coopers because they're new. On the other hand, BFGs have been tried and tested. Thanks for your input folks.

I have just fitted a set of 4 to my defender to replace my worn and aged mud terrains and the noise is no worse if not better. The grip seems to be just as good in the wet and pretty decent for a mud tyre. Obviously not had them on long but are ace offroad.

Fitted my 35 12.50 15 COOPER DISCOVERER STT on my Defender 90 with 2" lift. Had to put the wide arches on but all is good so far. Only 1 off road mud bath but ok for me, good on road too as Iv'e given it some stick in a hurry. Just a slight speed wobb;le once but nothing serious.

Green with envy. 265/75 16 are out of stock everywhere :( Some suppliers are waiting for new stock in July, others in September. I can wait until September but would rather replace them before. My Kumho KL71s have covered 48,000 miles and are now pretty worn.

Not everywhere JCS wheels and tyres of the *bay are showing stock

Anyone have an opinion on the Cooper Discover All Terrains? I was expecting to move away from my BFG's, but I'm reading good reviews about the KO2's. I've tried to get quotes today for BFG AT's and General Grabber AT's, but the Grabbers seem hard to get. The two best places around here can't get them. The reviews for the Discoverer AT's seem ok, but one I've read said they only lasted for 15K miles.
