you need to decide what you will be using the car for, if its gonna be an offroader get the size above in mud terrians,

if its road use get road tyres, or a bit of both all terrians not as good as either on there preferred surface but good at most things

Hi, it will be used to tow an Ifor 510 trailer and two horses. Mainly on roads but some muddy showgrounds so needs to be able to pull itself and the trailer out. I think it just has orginal tyres and wheels at the moment, this it the pic

well your not gonna need 35" tyres for that, id go for 265/75/16 mud terrian,
like bfg if you've loads of money, or hankook rt03 mt, if you aint got loads of money, but the choice is yours

There is a few egos on here I see? Silly people? Thanks Mitch your a gentleman

I obviously did a search but got contrasting results.. i figured you guys would be the best experienced to give advice.. didnt realise it was so clickie? sorrrrrrrrrrryyyyyy

from one noob to another :)

265/75/16 are the biggest tyres you can fit on a defender without fitting taller suspension. that size is also the biggest size which the defender came with from new afaik. The ones designated with those odd looking sizes like 31/12.5/16 are imperial measurements afaik, and all are bigger than 265/285

mine has 255/70/16 on it, which im replacing with 265/75/16. also bear in mind you could be increasing the vehicle height by changing tyre size.

also if you buy literally any land rover magazine there will be adverts for mail order wheel/tyre suppliers. Every one ive seen will do a set of tyres and wheels as set. the modular steel wheels are strong and also cheap! try http://www.4x4tyres.co.uk/
