The heater on my 1989 2.5td has just recently started blowing out cold air only. I thought it would need a new thermostat so stuck one on and the problem still persists, any suggestions please??

Or there's an air lock, but most likely the flap has stuck as said.

Do you feel resistance on the heater control slider? Can you hear the flap moving?

Hi there stevenees, I had this problem with mine last year. Tackled two ways.
1. open the flap with the controls, then go to the control on top of the heater undo the nut and push the flap control as far as it will go then re-tighten the nut.
2, Take both the hoses off the heater matrix hook up the garden hose to the outlet and back flush the matrix. The amount of crap that came out of mine was unreal. Now the wife complains about too much heat in the car.:D :jaw:
