cold air disco 11

Hi guys got a slight problem with my disco 2.when in traffic the temp gauge reads normal but i get cold air into the cabin!only when i get up to 30 ish mph do i then get hot air!Any ideas guys?Its a 2000 2.5 diesel

Hi guys,been told by a garage to expect cylinder head gone and wants to charge me a small fortune to do the job....And that was over the phone he did`nt even see my disco...Any of you gurus came across this problem?would like to know more so i can ask questions.

did you temporarily go deaf when he said "gasket"

as in cylinder head gasket

Hi deaf no gob smacked yes,he just said you have cylinder head trouble!strip down to investigate will be 450 i **** a brick!obviously he has a super fookin powers to make that sort of prediction.I was thinking thermostat or water pump but not really got the knowledge.any help appreciated.

I had exactly the same problem then i realised the water in the expansion tank was well below the min mark

once topped up its been as warm as toast.

Strange thing is the car never went past half way on temp gauge??

mine did the same, had to welly it a little to get the blower to blow warm, otherwise was cold...when it got worse, needle ended up in the red, turned out to be blocked pipes (and y peice from expansion tank....flushed all cooling system, all ok now...
