This has broken on my freelander (it happened today and the black part was on the mat at my feet in the footwell) leading to the clutch pedal being a lot higher than it should be. This is a sensor of some kind and the clutch pedal rests on it at the right height. It is located in a square hole on a thin plate near where the plunger to the master cylinder meets the pedal. Can someone please inform me what it is so that I can get a replacement. There is nothing wrong with the master cylinder before someone says that it is that that is causing the excess height of the pedal ( Im only saying this as on another thread this was pointed out as the cause and in my case it isn't)

This happened to me on a 2002 TD4.
Part no is XKB100150, XKB100150L which is listed as a brake light switch. Got one from fleabay, about £12.
However, this did not really cure the clutch pedal returning too high. Ended up making a little U shaped plastic part to put over a metal edge down by the clutch pedal to limit it's movement. Was working mainly by feel down there so can't reallt explain exactly where it went!
Never did find out why there is a sensor on the clutch petal though, made bugger all difference to the way the car worked when it wasn't fitted.....

Thanks for the info I appreciate it. I'm hoping my local scrappy might have one on the petrol Freelander he has up there although it is probably a nightmare to get it off in one piece due to it's location. If that fails your info will come in handy.
