Before i fit the gearbox i just wanted to run this past you engineering types.
As the staple that holds the bearing in place is at the bottom it keeps falling out. Also, it bottoms out on the slippers before it sits firmly in the bearing. I thought id try and make my own so i drilled another hole in the top side of the arm and then drilled halfway back in the same hole with a slightly larger drill on the inside to form a counter bore. I then got a rivet and cut down the sleeve to the same thickness as the metal arm. I pulled the rivet slightly with a rivet gun until it expanded the sleeve in the counter-bore but stopped before it snapped. I then bent it over twice until it fitted into the bearing. It seems like it will work but i thought id run passed you lot before fitting the box. If the clip were to fall out after fitting, would it cause problems with the bearing just floating on the shaft?
