Still desperately searching for a private wood to set up in and work with the school kids......I'm doing climbing/assault courses/pot-holing type stuff with them at the moment but what I really want is to get them back in the woods

I had a piece of cherry that had a sizeable chunk fly off. Going to have to be a side plate or something now lol

There are some excellent craftsmen on here ninja Harris is brilliant. Also the Russian chap has some real skills in making knives and leather work!

pokerwork / branding iron if you want to do it by hand, or there are some that you put set letters into and heat on a stove etc, or if you can weld, make yer own up.

I am learning to woodturn in the old Clarke lathe I found in our shed. So far I have made a nice bowl out of some walnut I ordered online.

I am currently making what will now be an egg cup having begun much bigger �� out of spalt beech.

I am going to a rural sale where turning blanks, chisels, gouges will be for sale.
Really loving it. Very relaxing.

I have some newly cut cherry to season coming tomorrow. Any tips? I know it's nice wood once turned.

Also there is a cypriot pine. Not familiar with that wood.
