Hi all, has anyone tried one of these cheap diagnostic scanner fault finder tools made in China, if so what's your verdict ? Their is a company called Bang good who sell some weird & wonderful things they are advertising one of these tools for £13.37 free p&p, worth having a look if not for that then have a look at all the other things.

I got a similar one to this (ebay 172134190615) for about £3 .. works ace on the car and the wifes car but U/S on Landies, they not being standard obd2 ...

I also have one of these, which I use with and Android tablet and some software I forget the name of (biggest seller on the app store). It works fine, and can reset fault codes. There are, however, a lot of cheap fakes about that are no good. Look on ebay for one with a lot of sales and good feedback, and you should be OK.

Only works with a proper OBD11.

Whilst Hawkeye or Nanocom (pick your own favourite) are definitely best for LR, the bluetooth dongles and mobile software will work with almost all OBD11 vehicles - so handy to have anyway, particulalry if you are liable to be asked "Why have I got a warning light?".
But do not leave the dongle permanently plugged in. It is live even with the ignition off, though it will have nothing to tell you, and can flatten your battery.

The software I have is Torque Pro on Android.

Hello All, thanks for all the replies re diagnostic tool but now have to spend money on a replacement upper steering column
as the tilt function is non functioning( floppy steering wheel syndrome) I have done my homework & know what the problem is, a broken
casting, all else functions ok (motors etc.) it appears you cant just purchase the casting. I have sourced a used upper column complete, on e-bay
& hopefully be able to re-coupe some of the money by selling some of the unused parts i.e. motors etc.
It would appear this has been a fairly common problem. I would like to hear from anyone else who has experienced this please.
Cheers petermature.
