Here you go , fits nicely in there , but the inferno on the back of your legs can be challenging, I've got the air grill pointed just right but ideally need to malfangle a heat diverter of sorts, I've kept the front of the heater as far forward as possible to allow the casing to be removed , underside I have the exhaust forward and the air intake to the back , these can be lengthened if needed , fuel pump is behind the seat and I have a jerry can feeding it from the tub outside the cab , best thing I ever done fitting one of these.

Yep that was my intention to take a feed off the main fuel line but then convinced myself I'd get an air lock in the system , so opted temporarily for the auxiliary tank for now

Depending on the controller type you can reduce the dose rate of the fuel pump which brings the heat down.

Just had a quick look at these , I see the sense , wouldn't mind seeing where these are fitted on a landy tank

You can fit them anywhere you like, but pretty close to the normal sender would make sense so you can get inside to secure it.
The standpipe itself dont want to go to the bottom of the tank either, not so much to stop them picking up crap, but to stop them using all you engines fuel.
 
I recently supervised the fitting of another heater in a defender. It went under the drivers seat without issue but again I wouldn’t like that kind of heat right up mi frock while driving.
Time limitations ment we couldn’t quickly solve the problem but there is plenty of room under there to come up with a cunning plan I’m sure.
 
I popped over the road to the commercial garage the other day and in the little office at the back of the workshop they had one of the integrated units warming the place nicely. You couldn’t see though because it wasn’t vented outside and was making everyone’s eyes water :eek:

If you fit the heater the other way around, you can route the hot air pipe through the back of the seat box and pipe round to the centre of the seat box and up between the seats. The cold air is drawn in through the seat box lid. (Installed in a 110.)

Fitted exhaust & flexi to heater & it was popping and smoking.
Has any one else had this problem?
Even with straight pipe still smokes.
Remove pipe & just use silencer direct to heater & works fine.,

I wouldn’t even know why that would happen. Spoze you could fit the pipe after the silencer just to direct it away. Every problem I’ve come across is due to fuel delivery. Usually because the angles have not been observed.
Down hill from the tank. Pump angled with outlet slightly higher than inlet and up hill to the heater.
If fuel is struggling to arrive at the heater due to a trapped air bubble then it could be struggling to reach a full burn. Remember it’s not got an injector, it almost dribbles in.

New pump fitted the other week. Runs perfect with out exhaust pipes just a bit loud (jet engine) and as it’s a horse lorry….. well at least you will be warm

I fitted the exhaust straight to the unit(No flexi pipe used) tonight & run it up again. Blew white for a bit now all cleared. Will test agin in a few days,if no good I will replace with a cheap chinese 1

If the truck one is a webasto or eberspacher the parts prices are eye watering!

The Webasto gaskets/glowplug/flame sensor and gauze cost twice what the new cdh did!

Only thing to watch on the cdh are the supplied fittings are a bit shti plus watch out which controller you get, as some you can tune the machine and others you cannot, there is a faceache page for them

This is the controller we have, and it is tuneable, I am sure there are others but I know first hand this one works.
