Little update on heater1. That’s the first one I fitted in my series.

As a well documented fault ont t’interweb the LED control panel recently lost its lighty up light and although still switched everything off n on, went too dark to see. Over to the bay of ees and a random click later a replacement controller and remote fob turned up.
Similar but smaller than the original with the on button on the opposite side. Works fine after a simple 3 pin plug in but there are some differences.
Firstly the back light goes off if not used for a while but betterer still, the remote fob has a 12v battery so zaps over a greater distance.

I can’t believe it’s been in 4 years and never missed a beat. Having said that it’s rarely cold enough to switch it on.

Gave mine a pre winter blast today to clean out the cobwebs. Took an hour to dry out the interior enough to be able to see through the windows. Same as last year. Strange how wet a series is

reminds me, must make effort to fit mine in the Ninety.....

and one in my t4, had them since November:oops:

Rich,

still not fitted them:eek:

our ninety is quite dry inside considering all the drafts & gaps around the doors, self-draining maybe:D

making effort to fit the heater this weekend:confused:

Rich.

How much fuel an hour do these things use?
I was considering fitting one for cold mornings but will have a petrol vehicle so would need to fit a small aux tank.

They use about a pint overnight in a truck cab

Just use a cyclist type water bottle.carry a 5ltr can & top it up when needed.
They don’t use much

Put a 5kw in a 280ish sqft shed, it is completly insulated but still surprised how quick it heats the whole thing up.

I’m thinking of fitting one in my living room. Hidden in a log burner stove.
Got to be cheaper than logs. o_O

Dont really want the exhaust pipe in the house.

Running costs are approx 1/2 litre per hr at full blast.

I had the central heating on a bit yesterday, literally just take the edge off, days gas was 2 quid more than normal, it is going to be an expensive winter!

A 30mm hole to the outside isn’t a uge issue. ;)

Nor a 6mm hole for a tank feed from the outside. I wouldn’t want smelly diesel filling in t’ owse.

It is not that, you do not want any part of the exhaust pipe in the living space.
Over the years there have been a few cases of people dying of co poisoning on boats due to poorly fitted diesel heaters.

One last year or so, two blokes out fishing got tanked up, then fell asleep on the boat never to wake up, all down to shti exhaust pipe install.
Couple in Norfolk same result, but theirs was the genny ex pipe made of soldered copper 15/22mm pipe!
I reckon mount machine outside and blow the hot air in would be a much safer bet.

Seems to be a theme there. Crap instillation. ;)
