2.5 k for a chassis, how much to fit.You might be interested to know that a full new galavanised chassis is now available from Richards for £1850+vat.
Just checked its over 2k + vat and depends on model to swap.so over 5k to swap a chassis on a car worth 3k.

No thats the carrying load in the truck.towing capacity 3500 i know cos i got one and 2 thoroughbreds and it pulls them in the box nicely.also got a terrano which will pull the horse box they actually do it better than the td5.the td5 is better in the snow and mud.Nissan Navara Towing limit seems very low, web site says over a ton, autotrader 1600kg, no good for our horse trailer!!!
well im only going by what my handbook told me when i bought my d22 new in 2003.owning the 3 i can state the discovery inc my previous 2004 td5 both manual do not pull as well as my nissans.every thing else they do better just not enough grunt. From Nissan UK site:
Max. towing capacity weight braked @ 12%
kg 2700 2600 2600 2600 3000
So it ain't 3500kgs.
Thanks Dave found that after........but 2600kg is enough, so it would be a viable replacement.
Will use a bit more fuel and as stated is worse in snow and poor conditions, all points to what a versatile vehicle the Discovery 2 was, damned shame they didnt spend a few quid galvanising the chassis....
Yes true but what could you replace it with for similar money
