I agree. That was my philosophy when I decided to have mine done. It is, at this moment, still being put back together and I can't wait for its return. There are pics of the work on face book but I don't know how to get them, or a link, on here!! Sorry.

oh pics please!! not into facebook!!! load of ****e,

I'm not into facebook either but I have been able to take a look at the pictures that Chris has put on there. I have no idea how to get them from there (I'm only a guest) to here.
I'll work on it though!

For the link, I admit defeat BUT if you google facebook CAMBRIAN 4X4 FARM and take the second one down, it should show you my Disco! It is in the 14 photos going in reverse up to the picture of the new Richards chassis.
Understand this???????

Magic! How you did that is a total mystery to me.
Yes, that is my beloved Disco and, as you said, it has certainly seen better days so I am very pleased to spend some ££££'s on him, known as 'Euphorbie4'.

I am totally dependant on 'those who know about Discos' to tell me when I have to do things and it was in November that I was told it would not get through next month's MOT. It has taken all this time to get things organised and the work done - just in time according to the pictures!

Please note, I am 'no spring chicken' but I love my Landys and have been buying them for many years, Discos and a Range Rover.

So there's a good business for someone out there to gear up with the right lifting gear and a modest production line to do Disco chassis changes at a decent price......have to say all the alternatives I have looked at have failings, and it will be hard to get a sensible replacement for my TD5 manual, so I am quietly pondering a chassis change should it be needed.......

And proof today was pulling the horse trailer out of the mud with just road tyres, the farmer was well impressed that I'd managed it as their Gaitor (small 4x4 with mud tyres) was getting stuck!

Who's going to be the first to do a chassis change at home??????

it really not that hard but would take lots of time and a fork lift

Yes I have built two kit cars, and rebuilt a classic mini totally from scratch. The only issue really is cost, as during the rebuild you would inevitably find lots of bits that you would replace and the cost builds up quite alarmingly!!!

Thanks again for doing that. I hope you enjoy them and have a snigger' at my expense! I am pleased to have spent my £'s and not a minute too soon, I think you will agree. I hope to get him back on Thursday.

Those pictures are beautiful - solves the only REAL problem of a DII imho.

My wife looked over my shoulder and the first words she said were" Well that'll last forever now!"

Cheers for showing those,

Dave
