now that is Swish
apart from the colour scheme...............it looks like it was made by the W.S.D
anyone ever tried putting a D2 body on a D1 chassis
anyone ever tried putting a D2 body on a D1 chassis
I was pondering with that idea the other night, think a guy in south america who uses this forum did a 200tdi in a td5 but kept chassis
Don't think it fits, looked it up earlier, in their wisdom lr changed most things with the d2 but kept it looking almost identical

I stand corrected, apparently you can put a Nissan v6 diesel in a d2, thought if I was to change chassis why not go the whole hog....??
it's a Land Rover with a good hammer, grinder and a welding set you can make any part off one Landie fit another.......well almost
You see it's this can do attitude that made Me want some British input
hmm td5 is a nice engine, if your gonna keep it why not get a galv chassis put on? A friend with a 300tdi defender had it done when theres was shot but they live near the sea
yeah
it's a Sheffield thing too
I may have failed to mention for fear of ridicule I drove out here with the v8...
Haha good one, we have stickers on the car that read sheffield-Sahara-Banjul you'd be amazed how many Yorkshire folk spot us in obscure places
Even better keep the v8 then! if running costs worry you? Get a LPG setup , i would never swop a v8 for a v6 derv
I love the v8, running costs are a concern but carrying 3 tonnes we got 21mpg at times. (Downhill with wind behind us!) can't get LPG outside of civilisation though, apart from USA haha get it
