The key lights up when pressed for lock or unlock. The dash light shows as armed, off for disarmed, however.. nothing happens. Not even a noise of anything trying.
Alarm will also go off if signalling alarm on after locking (supposedly) when you then open the door.
I'm thinking it must be the brain box of the thing.. but do you have any other suggestions?? and can you also tell me where it would be located.

This is my mates Y reg TD5 Discovery.

Many Thanks.

Have you tried to get in it and start it with the EKA code (how to do is in your hand book ) if you get in and get it going doing this ,then it's a good chance it's the fobs receiver in the roof just in front of rear sunroof . Not to hard to get to and change £50 from LR . They can get wet from a leaky sunroof and play up , or even condensation build up . Sometime you will find after a day or so they just start working again .

you can lock the drivers door with key manually, but wont central lock all the others.
Its arming and disarming the alarm via key phob, but not actually operating the locks.

it seems only the central door locking is gone, check following fuses: F13 in engine bay and F1, F21 in the under-dash fusebox.

Just wonderd . Does it lock/ open the other doors when you press the dash button . If that still works . Then your prob could be with your drivers lock . If it don't work as well def start with the fuses
