Central door locking (Hawk) and lift up handle doors - unexpected bonus!

Having fitted a Hawk remote CDL kit to my 1985 90 I expected it to behave like CDL on other cars e.g. if one uses the correct key to unlock the door it overrides the CDL. Well it does on MrsC's Panda.

As the locks in lift up handle doors and I believe the later push button types are vulnerable to picking I thought this might be a weak point. However when the CDL is activated and the doors locked with the remote, they cannot be opened from the outside with the key If I lock the doors from inside with the CDL fob the inner door handle won't open them! A mate who is 'handy' with locks happened to pop by.....and he couldn't open the doors locked with CDL

I think this is quite a boon as it will make it more of a hassle for a naughty person to try and break in. I didn't do the Safari door because I don't often use it, couldn't be bothered with all the extra wiring and lock modifications and it's handy in case the battery in the 90 or the fob dies or something goes wrong as I can get in with a key.

Some might frown at the mods I've made to my otherwise original 1985 Ninety e.g. V8, auto, CDL, alarm/immobilisers, LED lights (not headlights), USB ports... But this is my final Landy and a keeper, knew that when I first saw it warts and all, and I want to make some minor improvements to suit my needs not that of a concourse showroom.
To be fair the mods started 3 years after it left Lode Lane; the build spec is for a left hand drive and it exported to Austria and converted to a right hand drive in 1988 on returning to the UK!
I even sprayed matt black the faded grey plastic trim panel at the back of the dash! All very 20th century!

Feel the same about my D1 - it's a keeper - hopefully the last vehicle I'll ever need ...

I'm slowly getting rid of electronics - like EDC = gone - MFU = also gone - though to be fair, this is a work in progress - but most of the functions have been replaced with relays which are easy to trouble shoot and repair as required .... I have purposely "lost" the key in buzzer for example - why the feck I need a buzzer to tell me my keys are in is beyond me - I can't imagine who would have put them in

I've also added more courtesy lights, cos LR's were carp

I cant see how the kit would change anything to do with the locks....its only a rod attached to and existing rod

@EeEk Does yours have lift up handle or push button doors? Gong by your avatar it's not a Ninety. I assume it is because the Santana locks on the early Ninety/One Ten models work independently from the push down button activated by the rod?

I WILL get in if the batt goes flat as the rear door is not hooked up to the cdl system.
