I'm currently doing an engine swap from a 300tdi discovery into my defender and the disco has got a cat on the exhaust pipe that I won't be using, anyone recycled one of these at a scrap yard and if so how much money did you get for it?

I got £40 I think for a Discovery one. May have even been more, can't 100% remember.

I got £80 for a D1 300tdi one... although that was 2 1/2 years ago now...

Scrap has massively decreased in value... stick it in the shed and forget about it, it'll be a little pot of gold next time you find it

Scrap is not very high and tbh your not going to get much! I'd wait till prices go up again

Keep it in case you ever have an issue with MOT's in the future (you are now supposed to have a CAT fitted if it was there at original build). I know a lot of testers aren't really bothered but if they tighten up on the regs in the future it could be worth more. Mine 'should' have one but hasn't and got through last MOT ok.
