Car not starting and getting really annoyed!!

I was driving along the road when I lost power. Got the car started then when tries to accelerate car died. I took the fuel line off the fuel rail and the petrol is pumping out not sure of the pressure as I don't have anything to check with or how to check with out a gauge.

Sounds fuel to me.
You can get a rough guide of the fuel supply by measuring the fuel pumped in a set time. I can't remember the exact flow rate but if you switch the ignition on the pump will run for 2 or 3 seconds, this should pump a good 1/4 litre or more.

I am not a mechanic or that very clued up in major stuff just easy things I can do. Like change the pump check fuel rail. I have heard about a problem with fuel l
Filter and causing loss of pressure I have bought a brand new one from land rover but spoke to a mechanic there and was told that the filters are lifetime ones and should not need changed so i am truly lost.

Nothing is a Life time fit. The filter is built into the pump, as such has a small case therefore a limited dirt holding capacity. It's a fiddle to change but not impossible. There is a video on YouTube on how it's done.

Yeah I know how fiddly it is. I will be going to get plugs soon so will get them changed and if still no joy will change the filter. If still no joy after that then I have no idea. Matches and a soaked rag come to mind. But just frustrated!!!

From what's been said, the injectors are squirting fuel! It has at least a half decent spark! It should do something if the engines ok! It's not, so, is the compression down? Is it wetting plugs? Is timing out? Are valves slightly bent? Easy start will fire in a lot of those circumstances, petrol won't necessarily! And you're dammed lucky the inlet manifold hasn't exploded! Don't use it on petrol engines! Problem is we need accurate info otherwise its just guessing, look at dr evils engine every things fine spark fuel timing compression. Turns out its not, the engines buggered!
If it was me I'd check
1. Decent spark and plug condition
2. Fuel delivery
3. Valve timing

Been told the first two are ok, so that leaves 3
It's got spark and fuel so tdc and cam sensors ok, may be flooding but don't know if the plugs are wet.

A little update with new problem! Changed plugs and fuel filter car started after filter. Started miss firing while driving so went to scrappy got new leads still missfiring and very hard to drive!!

Sounds like low fuel delivery pressure to me. Are you sure the pump is ok? But as DD said we need lots of information ;)
