just change my battery as the fob was a bit weak and now I can't sync the fob as the car is armed

so I'll use the old eka to turn it off then sync it

ah but my security card is different from that in the handbook

I have a cats/security code num (hand writtern wih a line through it)
a key N0 (I thought was for gettingkeys cut)
and finally I have a big long number accross the top with the centre 4 large numbers in bold in a box I assume this is it?

did the 4 turns to lock the pescribed x unlock, x lock, x unlock, x lock and then finaly the single unlock

but nothing just he key code message on the dash and the alarm light flashing, opening the door sets the alarm off (which I then can't shut up till it times out) even then I tried again toe no a avail

so am I being an idiot, am I using the wrong code?

ahhhhhhhhh

right seems I may have already looked the eka out from my earlier fiddling henct the lockout message on the screen so will wait till tomorrow to try again

although I am still unsure which is the exact code???

If in doubt go to a main stealer and ask them to get you the eka and whilst your at it ask them for the lockset number (around 13 digits long) you will need your VIN, Proof of ownership e.g. log book and I.D.
Alternatively, if there's someone local who is mobile and has Rovacom or Autologic they should be aable to read the EKA from the BECM

I have the security code card but am sure which is the correct number due to the differing layout to the one shown in the manual.

I think after reading the workshop manual the problem is that the car was already armed so you don't do the 4 turns to unlock before entering the code you just do the code turns and the single unlock, thats why i kept getting a code lock.

lol maybe, but then there is so much contradicting info about

then I just need to sync the blighter

right all sorted thans to clariffication from a main dealer

thought I would post just to confirm for others who may search the topic

dispite what the LR service manual says the 4 turns to lock (rear of vehical for RHD models) is required irrispective of whether the car was locked by the key or the key fob

then on the later security card the EAK code is listed as key code on the back of the card unlike that shown in the owners manual.

once the 4 locks have been done do the unlock x first digit, lock, unlock, lock etc with a final single unlock where the car disarms the alarm (bar hood sensor and unlocks al the doors and boot.

then remove key and reinsert (for good measure) and press and hold the lock button and turn the key to lock the car, holding the key in this position with the button depressed for 5 seconds (again for good measure wait a little longer in case) release button and then turn key to centre. the fob should now be synced and all should be well

worked first time for me

lockset code? is that to enamle me to get replacement keys for my car?

sorry all this hightech buisness is new to me coming from a disco (was used to it in my e46 m3) :p
