Does anyone know the difference between camshafts from a 10p ERR6676 and a 15p LGC000310?

I can't see any visual differences and measuring the cam lobes gives values that are near as damn it the same.

The only thing I can't measure with any certainty is duration but they look close enough by eye.

Are they the same despite different part numbers?

There must be a difference as the green top injectors have a longer travel in the plunger so if a 10p camshaft is used on gren injectors they will not work at full capacity and 15p camshaft might ruin 10p injectors...even if the difference can't be eyeballed i'd not mix them just like that

Well I would expect a difference given the different numbers and plunger travel as you say but I've measured the lobes fairly accurately and, while there are small differences on lobes along one camshaft, there are no larger differences between camshafts.

It was the duration that I have no way of measuring, which is where I see no difference by eye.

I know this is an old thread, but did you find out how to identify the cam shafts?
I am looking at the same story and it's hard to get any definitive answer

Aside from the numbers printed on them, I can't detect any differences.

As someone else said on another thread, the LGC seems to be a supercession from the ERR but I don't know what the differences are. I would be interested to see if anyone has an ERR with green injectors and whether they have had any problems.

This thread just came up in a google search! Turner Engineering sell only one TD5 camshaft (LGC000310) and specifically state it is for both early and late cylinder heads.

If you read the whole description it's not so clear cos at the bottom they have
Defender From (V) 1A622424
Disco 11 From (V) 1A736340

from that VIN means 15(+)P cos up to that VIN were 10P, so the question is what's for engines up to 1A736340  , it's a whole mess with these part numbers so i dont really know if the camshafts are different or not, maybe not.

I thought I may as well ask Turner Engineering. They could have just included this info in their product page, although it still doesn't really make sense. Their reply:

"The early camshaft is no longer available, there is no choice. The later part number fits all TD5 engines.

The vin numbers are only listed as they are mentioned by land rover.
Kind Regards
"
