Nothing wrong with the man cave!
Not If you are Fred Flintstone or Primitive Pete
Nothing wrong with the man cave!
Little bit more tech
The 429 has a unique bellhousing pattern but the dowel holes do match that of the Chevy small/big block meaning I can use a chevy bellhousing with no issues as long as I make an adaptor plate for the bolt holes
Transmission Adapters - GM/ Cadillac/ others - THE H.A.M.B.

I now have two options I can buy a whole new gearbox bellhousing made from pressed steel that will cost me £360.........or I can drive to york and buy this Chevy one Chevy 4spd Gearbox+bellhousing | eBay
Take the bellhousing off then sell the box off for whatever I can get which will be a lot cheaper in the long run and the same bellhousing that I'd be buying except this one would be cast iron instead of pressed steel and it'd be an original
Just need to ask the guy if this one had a big block flywheel under it as I need to make sure I can get that flywheel inside the housing!
I mentioned very early on Doc about the Cadillac Bell housing And you got all ****y with me. And said some rather nasty stuff, when I was trying to help you.
And the fly wheel for the ebay would be a 13" fly wheel, and you might want to keep the 5 spd.
You need a BOP bell housing to fit
Nope I don't need a BOP!
BOP will not fit without an adaptor, the 429 is completely unique! The bellhousing may fit I'm getting the guy to see if a full size clutch will fit inside as he has an 11" clutch in his spares pile which is what I'm using on the big block flywheel.
Anyway if that is definitely a small block bellhousing I'll buy it as I've just sourced a small block flywheel and clutch for £80
Gearbox will be sold on after as the Muncie box is stronger and shorter. The 5 speed may be of use in a future conversion though
that is just a 4 spd with a over drive Doc and a rather good transmission and will Handel that engine. was used on upto 454 Chevy GM bigblock, 2 wheel drives
Are you still able to keep the series front end?
No its a 5 from the plate on the box
Anyway Rover V8 flywheel is the same size as a SBC it would seem......may just buy a 427 clutch and have the flywheel redrilled to take that set up. Would cost me less that way
Indeed rads going in the back!
Turns out a 1966 427 corvette clutch can take 465ft/lbs........I reckon it'll take an extra 15ft/lbs no problem
Real steel will be getting a call on monday and I'll be buying one of them and redrilling the Rover V8 flywheel.....just measured it up and its the same size as the SBC one which is a bit annoying just finding that out  however as the lathe arrives at my mates shed tomorrow it does mean we can probably start to design the adaptor for the flywheel
eh ? why would it need to swing 13" it only needs to turn off a 7" spacer
