The metal work took some time as never removed a bulkhead before. Long winters.
The transmission arch from original was fit to replacement TD-5 bulkhead

What years was the TD-5 ? Is there a fiche for that what I use I do not believe has those models?
For that grommet or how do you do on the wiper?

That said I can see why these rust out the replacement is in okay shape but without proper protective coating it would rust the same some time will be spent to remedy that. A bit on the wing need welding.

LR014315 is the part number for the oval gromet. all defender bulkheads have had both sets of holes for left and right hand wiper setups with the remaining holes filled with a grommet. the change over came I believe towards the end of the 300tdi where the later oval style wiper spindle began to be used.

1984 set up for attaching wing with two holes access to underneath to install a plate there I believe.
& below no access underneath with one bolt hole will one bolt in the corner be adequate to hold the wing?

There also is a round hole on outside assuming that should be plugged? TD-5

Seems the fixing bracket MRC2136-8926 would need another attachment point.

Waiting for welding friend to return to finish repairs to frame this was how it was & repaired.
Then the TD5 bulkhead was fitted before we cranked truck back into the shed for the winter.
Now I have to find the parts & after more painting get things together.

That look just like my welding, but I am sure someone will be along shortly to point out it is not very good, that's what usually happens when you put pictures of welding up.
Look like good progress. it never ceases to amaze me how much time is spent painting during a rebuild and it is something I do not have the patience for or enjoy doing!

The welder has done many body restorations vehicles ships cars trucks as why I had to wait.
The frame will be painted with POR-15 a tank paint maybe not avail in UK.
Next hoping to finish stripping windscreen frame & seat box get painted.
I have a cheap gun but it works, well did last time used.
Before weather changes.

It’s available. I treated the inside of my tractor tank with it. It is an epoxy sealer isn’t it? Is that really suitable for the chassis exterior?

I did the entire frame of my 90 has held up well, you need to use top coat on top of por-15 as a sealer.
It can be used to bond fiberglass tape to holes of which I did in the foot well still there.
