Hi, I'm looking to change the bulkhead/windscreen hinges on my '92 Defender 200Tdi for the solid bulkhead bracket type.
Can someone tell me if these are a straight swap? Thinking of going stainless with em... Anyone had any issues doing this? Cheers

They re a straight swop.

Are you looking at getting some SS ones made up because I don't recall seeing any?
Plenty of options out there, 4-years ago I went for the anodised BP ones and they have been fine.

Thanks Litch, marine grade stainless from http://ox4x4.com/

I had forgotten about the Ox items.
That said, although my 90 has been rebuilt using SS fasteners throughout (excluding suspension etc) I have never been tempted by any SS products (threshold trims, door-hinges etc) and prefer silver anodised products (windscreen blocks, Optimill hinges etc). In my opinion the polished SS items resemble chrome (which looks wrong on a LR) whereas the anodised items are more in keeping with the galvanising (of which I have plenty).

Thanks for the input and answering my question, most appreciated. I've ordered some stainless fittings from oX. To be honest they're costing a bloody fortune but I love me Landy as does me missus so I guess shiny happy hinges is for us, 'tis all a matter of subjectivity I guess?. Cheers again.

I was considering some of the door hinges as I try to get stuff that won't need changing again, but I think I would then have to spray them black and that would be a shame as they look pretty!

Very shiny. :D
I have to admit that I prefer the (slightly) toned down anodised silver or matt SS finish. Also the design of the Optimill door-hinges is something to behold but as with the Ox items, not cheap.

Nice one Litch, and agreed, not cheap at all but to coin a phrase our son uses all the time...sweet!.... Still prefer shiny though! ;)
