Well the car (P38 manual diesel) has been off the road for a few weeks due to me fitting roll pins and not spiral pins (in the clutch fork assembly) when it happened this time last year. So have spent two days and a couple of evening taking it all apart and fitting new spirol pins. So last night at about 8pm decided to get all the underneath finished off so only the interior to fit back. This was the wrong decision as it meant I had not refitted the handbrake. Car on axle stand on concrete blocks. I had lowered 3 wheels on to blocks and was doing the fourth when the whole lot rolled back. Trouble was the tailgate was open and there was a tree behind the car park space. So the tail gate took the hit. Lots of damage.
So my question would be how do I check to see if I have damaged the hinge support before trying to buy a new tail gate (top and bottom). Also anybody know of a bronze P38 being broken, (apart from this one maybe in a week or two)!
