I have been looking for breakdown cover, i have seen loads of posts about cover, but is there any issues if i break the landy on a site like devils pit.. will the rac/aa etc still come get me??

I am assuming other landy folks would drag me as far as the front gate/carpark.. not expecting a big yellow truck to get in a mud pit after me!!!

any one had experience of them helping in these sorts of scenarios?

It all depends on the person sent out. I have no problems with dealing with a breakdown under these circumstances. A jobsworth who is after an easy life might try and use it as an excuse to get out of doing some work, same as any other industry. Giving the vehicle a pressure wash if poss will aid your chances.

Hi buddy I'm an RAC patrol myself and technically to the rule book the patrol can refuse to recover you if he deems it's been broken off-roading. And normally you can't get away with it looking like it has been off-road. All major companies have the same clause so it is just look of the draw on patrol front who you get and where it is and if it's clean or dirty when it's failed. Can't say anymore than that for obvious reasons sorry.

ive been recovered by the AA three times, caked in mud, just so long as your on the road when they turn up, the guy said they were happy with that as i told them it broke on the public highway,

Use the breakdown cover with your insurance company as they cover you for off road use breakdown can't refuse to recovery you

I pay £35 a year and have been recoverd every time within 1 hour. If I phone up and say I need a wagon to recover me home 135 miles thats what is sent, not someone to see your problem before a wagon is sent like aa/rac/green flag.
iv seen rac leave people at the side of the road at korc. His clutch went, towed a mile from site, rac said you have been off roading so the rac will not help you and drove off
