Hello everyone,
My name is Nina, I'm 29 and currently living in the Peak District, UK.
I have just purchased a 2006 Freelander 1. It's a 3-door Freestyle Hardtop, black with 71,500 miles on the clock. Owned it just 2 days so far, but thanks to our Easter Bank Holiday here in the UK, I was fortunate enough to be able to give it a good test today. 300 miles later and I'm still smiling.
Reason I bought a Freelander? Well we needed a second car in the house. Before this purchase, our Toyota Aygo 3-door was our sole vehicle, which in all fairness, is more than a little cramped when we go camping, and not particularly suitable for our Siberian Husky, poor little soul!
We used to have a larger vehicle, but needed to downsize after I got made redundant. However we're now in a fortunate position to be able to own a second car, and my first choice was a Land Rover. I know it's not the same, but I used to own a classic Mini, and absolutely adore a "less refined" car. As a result of that, it's my ultimate dream to own a Defender 90 Hardtop - but I'm picky and the ones I want are unfortunately out of my price range...!
I'll say it now, but I'm afraid off-roading isn't my hobby, but please don't judge me for wanting a Defender, I know they strive for the off-road life!
My main hobby are motorbikes. I ride them in all weather, apart from snow (on the road) and ice, and clock up more miles on my bike than the Aygo. I won't lie, I'm so glad to now own a second car as it'll make my long-distance work commutes and visits to family far easier, and I'll need to plan less when winter is here. I'm not the only one happy with this purchase - my Husky is a big fan of having his own boot and electric window!
Anyway, I'm an active member on some bike forums (Yamaha, Triumph Tiger & Triumph Street Triple), so I'm looking forward to participating where I can on this forum.
