Hi people
Just put new discs calipers and pads all round on my discovery 2 td5. But once bleed... the pedal creeps down if you rest foot on it???? Pedal was good before. Hope someone can help cheers.
 
If you have a diagnostic unit, try power bleeding the system. Someone suggested to me to use ptfe tape on the bleed nipple threads and I think that helped.
 
Usually it’s the master cylinder creeping, could just be a bit of **** under one of the seals,
Use new clean fluid and do a complete bleed of the system, don’t use old fluid as any microscopic air bubble
Take forever to clear, But if you have a firm pedal that then creeps to the floor with no apparent leaking
Then it points to the master cylinder,

Under normal use, the piston in the master cylinder only travels a short way along the cylinder. But when bleeding the brakes it will go the whole length. On an old car, there will probably be a wear ridge which the piston seal has to go over repeatedly when bleeding (if you do the down/up method).
If the fluid has not been changed in yonks, there may also be some corrosion in the cylinder and the wear ridge and any bore roughness can damage the piston seal as the brakes are bled, causing the pedal to slowly sink as the fluid creeps back past it.
New master cylinder is a good move.

+1 on that.
air compresses to give a soft pedal, it won't cause a pedal to creep to the floor.

New master on its way plus braided flexis so will do at same time. Plus new fluid. Thanks again will keep updated once done (Saturday)
 
You deed a diagnostic unit, such as a nanocon, to get into the ECU to activate the "power bleed" in the service options. It will cycle the abs pump, etc, so to drive out the air bubbles.
